Begin the Utility Management Certification.
The first step in the Utility Management Certification process is an application that scores education, training and water industry experience. Once an applicant scores 100 points, they will pay a $250 fee and take the certification exam. The UMC exam consists of 102 questions covering utility management, finances and operations. After achieving the required score, new UMC graduates can print a certificate and will receive a UMC plaque.

The Utility Management Certification can be renewed every three years. To qualify for renewal, certification holders must have completed 40 hours of additional training. Renewal requires a $125 fee.
